Starting from the upcoming academic year, the opening hours of the HU Library in Utrecht will change. Due to budget cuts, it has been decided to adjust the opening hours.
New opening hours from 8 September 2025:
Regular teaching weeks
- Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 20:00
- Friday & Saturday: 08:30 – 17:00
Please note: On Saturdays during regular teaching weeks, part of the library is open for studying. You can access this area via the entrance at Padualaan 101. You can also return materials here via the return box.
Our staff, the reservations, and the collection located at Padualaan 99 are not available on these Saturdays.
Exam weekends
- Saturday & Sunday: 08:30 – 17:00
During exam weekends, the entrance on both Saturday and Sunday is via Padualaan 101. The collection at Padualaan 99 will be accessible. The next exam weekends are on October 25 and 26 and November 1 and 2.

HUB-Lab Reopened for Walk-ins!
The HUB-Lab has been renewed! Previously, you could only visit by appointment, but now the doors are open again to all visitors. You’re welcome from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.
